Working came naturally to Paul. He had been doing it for years now and if he had to, he could do it with his eyes closed. The last five years had been a bit of a blur to him in that sense. He had gone from a kid that did nothing but party, drink and smoke to a father and a a provider. It was a hard transition for anyone, but to completely break away from his old lifestyle was a difficult task, but Paul did it. He did it all for his son Schuyler. Schuyler was his world; his life - his everything. He would do anything for his five year old son, absolutely anything. There wasn't a line he wouldn't cross or a problem he wouldn't solve.
Just like he busted his ass work his shifts at Starbucks to help support the two of them. He had a great support system in his mother and his older sister and younger brother. It definitely made a difference in his life and helping him turn around. He was grateful for everything his family had sacrificed for him and he couldn't have asked for a better family if he tried.
Glancing up at the diminishing crowd of people, Paul gave the customer he had just finished helping a bright smile before heading back towards the back. I'm gonna take my break now, He piped up and headed to punch out for his break. After he left behind the counter, he grabbed a bottle of water and headed to one of the open couches on the floor. Taking out his notebook from his back pocket, he read over some of the lyrics he had written down and started to edit and add to the song he had been working on for weeks. It was difficult to find free time to actually write these days, but he was always glad to take advantage of his break times to do so.
