There were people everywhere, and her teacher had held her class in after the bell because they were being noisy, so it was clear the seating was limited. The line for food was longer than a limo and it was taco day. "Great," Dee thought to herself with a humorous disappointment. ”Taco day, and I’m at the back of the line.” Deciding to not let her obvious misfortune get her down, she made her way towards the back of the line with some other students who looked very unhappy about not getting their tacos on time, and she knew that they would be waiting along with her. Dee glanced around the room full of students, some she knew and some she didn’t. She recognized most of them because she’d grown up with them, or met them at church or whatever. There were a few people she didn’t recognize right off the bat, but she knew that if they were in Casper, God had put them in her town because he had something great planned for them. Dee smiled to herself wondering what great plan the Lord had for the new comers. Who knew, she might be part of the plan too. Dee looked at the clock, lunch wasn’t that far along. She figured she had enough time to eat and even have some social time before heading back to class. In her head Dee made a list of everything she had to do that day. Finish school, of course, then do her homework and go to the church for band practice and Bible study. When she got home later she’d have to clean up around the house and then she was going to go hang out with some friends at Starbucks… She had to admit it was a pretty normal lowkey day. She marveled at how the news was full of teens who did bad things, and drank and smoked and stuff. She didn’t understand why students everywhere else couldn’t be like the ones in Casper, because as far as she knew, nobody did any of that stuff in town. Everybody was pretty good, and she thought it was probably because of how the town was so tight knit. She practically knew everybody, which made it great during lunch. As she got her tacos and a soda, she looked around the cafeteria for somewhere to sit. She usually didn’t sit with anyone in particular. The cafeteria wasn’t really divided-she thought- in to cliques or anything, so she sat wherever there was an empty seat. Everybody liked her because she was so peppy and friendly, and it was hard not to get along with Dee. Today, there weren’t a lot of empty seats. Maybe it was a day when a bunch of people came to school, so she stood there looking around for somebody to sit with at a table that wasn’t too crowded. ♥ ♥ ♥ template by hay shay ! @ caution 2.0 LYRICS BY PANIC AT THE DISCO |
