After telling her mother that she was pregnant, Charlie wasn't sure what to do with herself. It wasn't like she could really mope about it, she had gotten herself in to this mess and now she had to do what she could to get out of it. She had picked up her job at the restaurant, so that she could save up money for the baby once it got here. She really didn't know what else she could do. Her mother was the only family she had and she was refusing to talk to Charlie. Her mother could be incredibly stubborn when she wanted to be and that meant that this silence between them could go on for... awhile. It was a scary thought really. Her mother had always been one of her best friends and now... now she had no one to talk to about this.
Her other two best friends both attended the same high school as her and Jasper, so it wasn't like she could tell them. She trusted them, but she knew that if one of them so much as slipped her secret would be exposed. She had been contemplating telling them she was pregnant, but she didn't know how to go about it without telling them who the father was. Charlie knew that the second she said she was pregnant they were both going to jump down her throat about how this possibly happened and who the father was. She made a promise to Jasper not to tell anyone and she wasn't going to go back on her promise. She couldn't.
Chewing on her bottom lip, she parked in front of the playground that she used to play on when she was younger. Charlotte hadn't been there in such a long time. It was nearly deserted and she was thankful for that. She couldn’t keep this secret from them for long. Naomi and Travis knew her better than she knew herself and she just couldn’t hold it in. Besides, they’d be pissed at her if she didn’t tell them right away. Walking towards the swings, she sat down and slowly started to swing her legs to get the swing going. What are you going to do, Charlie? She asked herself. Maybe if she just asked them to not ask any questions, they'd accept that. Though part of her was pretty damn sure that they wouldn't.
